What was Immanuel Kant's contribution to epistemology?

He didn't draw any debate to an end. His only real "contribution" to epistemology was an attempt to destroy it. He basically asserted the impotence of reason (while attempting to use reason to do so) and claimed that we have conceptual knowledge at birth, which is obviously and laughably false.
