Why do people say young couples won't last?

So I'm 15 and I've been dating my 16 year old boyfriend for about 9 months. It really bugs me that my older brother says we won't last. I guess my real question is if anyone knows of any people that have dated since high school/middle school and are still together and happy many years later. I'd really like to prove my brother wrong.
