Block onbeforeunload onunload event?

Turning off javascript and using ctrl+alt+del ends up with degraded web browsing or loss of tabbed pages when researching information for articles, essays and books I'm writing. ABP doesn't catch the event which leaves the above alternative. Then there's adding js to about in ff that I'm not overly familiar with that returns a "null" to the js. Anyone have a better permanent solution?
